Dana Farber please fix this. No one should be standing in line like this to pay for a parking ticket after their cancer treatment. There is technology and other means available to fix this issue. We don’t live in 1800.
6/29/22 my Husband and I just arrived at this medical center . They have parking valet and self park. From hotel to here a lot of winding roads can be a bit confusing . Thank Christ we found our way to Dana Faber. You need to wear mask at all times. Their mask is first class tho . first floor you get your name tag and asked pre-screening COVID question . Then you go on the second floor for check in and lab services . So far everyone we have encounter that work here is five service. Found a nice little chapel , alway make sure in the chapel or not that you pray specially in places like this . Pray in the name of Jesus that is the name above all names .
I was relieved to have this facility so close by for my mothers care when she was initially diagnosed with suspected ovarian cancer. This facility and care team is supposed to be the best of the best. I feel her oncologist dropped the ball multiple times. Her cancer was aggressive regardless, but I do not feel her oncologist advocated for her care, instead I feel she was a barrier to moving forward. My mother wanted to fight, and her oncologist was not in her corner. Take your loved ones elsewhere.
The hospital needs to improve its pain control. The right hand doesn't know what he left hand is doing when it comes to supporting hospitalized patients in managing pain. Management needs to look closely and see that when hospitalized patients complain of agony, there is n protocol n place to bring pain specialists to compassionately address the issue.
Two stars is for the chronic disorganization, poor communication, and indifference or lack of urgency of the administrative staff who repeatedly made mistakes with our appointments creating longer delay to being seen despite being told well in advance that we could not make a particular appointment. After a second repeat of the same mistake, instead of taking accountability such that there will be motivation to do better for future, they passed the blame to another party. It is challenging enough to care for an ailing family member around the clock and micro manage every aspect of their medical care. I am very self sufficient and will do much of the legwork myself to stay on top of things so offices only need to do minimal on their end and not screw up appointments. Of course there was no apology or remorse for mistakes. If you gently subtly remind them to care about patients, they can dig deep to find their humanity meaning I do not believe they have ill intent. It would have been a one star review if I felt they were inherently lacking in humanity and shouldn’t be in healthcare. The flaw lies in their dysfunction and desensitization because of the volume of patients making everything mindless so you’re just an impersonal statistic to them which contributes to poor job performance and poor dedication to doing the job right.
They are truly the “best of the best” when you need it the most. My experience with Dr. Wagner at Dana Farber was remarkable. I wasn’t getting many answers about my condition from other doctors in Florida. I came up here and met with Dr. Wagner and you could tell he is an absolute expert in his field. He was extremely knowledgeable, explained everything in great detail and most of all made myself and my wife feel very comfortable and calm. I can’t recommend this hospital or this Doctor more. Great experience at a time that I desperately needed it. Thank you, Dana Farber and Doctor Wagner!
My brother unfortunately had several negative experiences at this institution. When he requested assistance from the nurses, they did not come immediately or in a timely manner. On one occasion, he even fell down and was left unattended. In addition, there was one inexperienced nurse who was not aware of the proper procedure to remove blood from his belly, causing further complications.
These unfortunate circumstances, combined with delayed treatment, ultimately led to his passing. As a result, I cannot recommend this facility for cancer treatment.
Instead, I highly recommend the Mayo Clinic, which provides exceptional care and has a team of knowledgeable and professional medical staff.
Don’t waste your time here at Dana-Farber!
